An Abridged History of Forgetting: Merv Espina

For the third installation of Cafe of Letters, Merv Espina will join us for a discussion entitled “An Abridged History of Forgetting” on 29 November 2014. Espina will elaborate how history is more of a collection of narratives rather than a gathering of objective data and facts by presenting specific moments and fragments in Philippine art history.

Merv Espina is an active member of several art institutions: he is the program director for Green Papaya Art Projects, the oldest artist-run creative interdisciplinary platform in the Philippines, and the cook-janitor of WSK, a media art kitchen and festival. He has also co-founded the institute of Lower Learning which is an experimental art and education initiative based in Saigon, Vietnam and Manila, Philippines.

When?:
11/29/2014 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm
