Vermont Coronel II (b. 1985) studied Advertising under the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at the Philippine Women's University. His urban-inspired works have been featured at the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Lopez Memorial Museum, also in art festivals in Baguio City and Los Angeles. His first exhibition, Spirit Of A Place at The Drawing Room (Manila), shortlisted him in the 2012 Ateneo Art Awards, a prestigious distinction for emerging artists in the Philippines. Vermont is known for his stencil-based imagery of grit and diachronic relationships inherent in the city landscape and its heritage. His current project for Project Stage is extended in scale as he contrasts a striking picture of a flyover’s underside in Manila. This towering aerosoled piece is made out of over 5 stencil matrices and 9 hues.
