Face the Strange : Olan Ventura

TAKSU Singapore is honored to present Face the Strange, an exhibition by Rolando ‘Olan’ Ventura (Philippines). As a continuation of Olan Ventura’s ongoing series of hyper-realistic diptychs, Face the Strange puts together 8 new works with subject matters of major contributors in the arts and cultural industry. From 19th century’s Monalisa to recent-known figures like Lady Gaga and Steve Jobs, Face the Strange is a post-digital mashup of iconic faces, each of them facing its negative doppelganger. OLAN VENTURA (b. 1976, The Philippines) graduated from Fine Art program from University of the East in 1998. Olan Ventura was the recipient of Juror’s Choice Award in the 2005 Philippines Arts Award. Since 1998 to date, Olan has exhibited in various galleries and art spaces in different parts of Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore. Olan Ventura lives and works in Manila.
