Tin-Aw Art Gallery
Tin-aw Art Gallery opened their exhibition space in the center of Makati in 2008. Since its inaugural, the art space has recognized, stood behind and showcased a pool of artists whose careers range from emerging to those who have garnered accomplished stations in the Philippine art history canon. The exhibitions held in Tin-Aw (which means clear, lucid water in Filipino vernacular) contain the fulcrums of certain social realities and the works the gallery features are investigations on inherited institutions and how they collide to generate personal and collective narratives.
Aside from their regular exhibitions, Tin-Aw maintains an Art Management component supporting and representing the careers of Alfredo Esquillo Jr., Mark Justiniani, Joy Mallari and Ferdie Montemayor. Through this service, Tin-Aw has tied up with numerous venues to showcase these artists who has been making a successful impact in the visual art climate in the Philippines. More recent collaborations, spanning 2010 to 2011, are "Malikmata"with Silverlens and SLab, "Bato Bato sa Langit", also with SLab, "Exodus" with Valentine Willie Fine Art Singapore and "Monumental" with Manila Contemporary. They have hosted major projects by co-hosting and curating the culminating exhibitions of the Juana Change event "Pangatawanan Mo Nah!"(2009) and the significant retrospective of catalyst Santi Bose, "Remixed: Santiago Bose".
